Made For Law/Docs

Embed Overview

3 min read

Learn how to add the probate calculator to your law firm website.

What Is Embedding?

Embedding places the Made For Law probate calculator directly on your website. Visitors interact with it without leaving your site — they enter estate details, see fee estimates, and can download a PDF, all within your existing web pages.

How It Works

  1. You get a script tag from your portal (Settings > Embed)
  2. You add that script tag to your website's HTML
  3. The calculator renders automatically where you place it
  4. All data is processed securely through Made For Law's servers

The embed is lightweight, responsive, and works on mobile devices. Pro settings (lead capture, branding, and PDF controls) are managed in the portal and typically apply without reinstalling the script. Feature availability still depends on calculator support and rollout status.

Embed Methods

Choose the method that fits your website platform:

Method Best For Guide
Script Tag Any HTML site, custom builds Script Tag Guide
WordPress WordPress sites WordPress Guide
Squarespace Squarespace sites Squarespace Guide
Wix Wix sites Wix Guide
Custom / API Developers, custom apps Custom Integration

Configuration Options

From the Settings > Embed page in your portal, you can configure:

  • Allowed domains — Which websites can display your calculator
  • Default state — Pre-select a state jurisdiction
  • Lead capture toggle — Enable/disable the post-results lead form (Pro)
  • Branding and PDF presentation — Logo, colors, white-label, and PDF settings are managed in Settings > Branding, Settings > PDF Reports, and Settings > PDF Export (Pro)

Use the calculator comparison and feature columns on the marketing pages to confirm which calculators currently support lead capture and PDF export.

⚠️

The calculator will only load on domains you've explicitly allowed in your embed settings. If you see a "domain not authorized" error, add your domain to the allowed list in Settings > Embed.

Testing Your Embed

After adding the embed code to your site:

  1. Visit the page in your browser
  2. You should see the calculator form load
  3. Try a test calculation to confirm it works end-to-end
  4. Confirm the results page and PDF download work
  5. If you have lead capture enabled, verify the contact form appears after results and saves correctly

If the calculator doesn't appear, see Common Issues.
