Solutions to frequently encountered problems with the Made For Law platform.

Embed Not Showing

The calculator doesn't appear on my website.

Check your domain is authorized

Go to Settings > Embed in your portal and verify your website domain is in the allowed domains list. The domain must match exactly (e.g., www.example.com is different from example.com).

Verify the script tag

Make sure the embed code is placed correctly in your page's HTML, ideally just before the closing </body> tag. The script tag should look like:

Check for JavaScript errors

Open your browser's developer tools (F12 or right-click > Inspect) and check the Console tab for any error messages related to the calculator.

Clear your cache

Try loading the page in an incognito/private browser window to rule out caching issues.

Login Problems

I can't log in to the portal.

  • Google sign-in not working: Try clearing your browser cookies for portal.madeforlaw.com and signing in again
  • Email/password: Use the "Forgot password" link on the login page to reset
  • Account not found: Make sure you're using the same sign-in method you used to create your account

PDF Not Downloading

The PDF download button doesn't work.

  • Check that your browser allows downloads from madeforlaw.com
  • Try a different browser
  • Disable any ad blockers or download managers that might interfere
  • If using Safari, check Settings > General > Downloads

Lead Capture Not Working

Visitors aren't being asked for their contact information.

  • Confirm you're on the Pro plan (lead capture is a Pro feature)
  • Check that lead capture is enabled in Settings > Embed
  • Run a full estimate first; on supported embeds, the lead form appears after results rather than before the calculation starts
  • Confirm that specific calculator currently supports lead capture rollout (some advanced calculators are still expanding)
  • If setting changes are not visible, clear site/CDN cache before re-copying embed code

Integrations Not Receiving Data

My Zapier integration isn't getting triggers.

  • See the Zapier troubleshooting section
  • Verify your Zap is turned on and published
  • Check Zapier's Task History for errors
  • Ensure lead capture is enabled (most triggers require it)
