License Keys

Understand and manage your license keys for the probate calculator.
What Are License Keys?
License keys authenticate your embedded calculator. Each key is scoped to specific domains and tied to your subscription plan. The calculator widget validates the key on each load to ensure it's authorized.
Viewing Your Keys
Go to Settings > Licenses in the portal to see your active license keys. Each key shows:
- The key value (partially masked)
- Allowed domains
- Status (active, expired, revoked)
- Creation date
Adding Domains
Each license key has an allowed domains list. The calculator will only load on domains in this list.
To add a domain:
- Go to Settings > Licenses
- Click on the key you want to modify
- Add the domain (e.g.,
www.mylawfirm.com) - Click Save
Add both www and non-www versions of your domain if you use both. The domain check is exact — mysite.com and www.mysite.com are treated as separate domains.
Key Rotation
If you need to regenerate a license key (e.g., if it was exposed):
- Go to Settings > Licenses
- Click Revoke on the compromised key
- Click Generate New Key
- Update the key in your embed code
The old key will stop working immediately after revocation.
Grace Period
If your subscription lapses (e.g., failed payment), there's a 7-day grace period during which your calculator continues to work. After the grace period, the calculator shows a "license expired" message.
Renew your subscription to restore service immediately.
